From 1893-1902 the cable cars of the Powell-Mason line were painted in a yellow and red livery of our namesake, the Market Street Railway Company. The original car no. 15 would have been painted in this livery when it entered service in 1894, so its only fitting its replacement be painted in honor of predecessor.
