Our updated poster shows the many vintage liveries now gracing the Powell Street cable car fleet (a project supported by Market Street Railway). These paint schemes represent five different owners of the Powell line since 1888, in a kaleidoscope of colors.
The current California Street livery is also included, along with historic O’Farrell, Jones & Hyde car No. 42, acquired by and restored with help by Market Street Railway. as well as the oldest operating cable car in the world, Sacramento-Clay Car 19, whose restoration was initiated by Market Street Railway. All the cable cars shown here are in Muni’s operating fleet.
